On the 28 and 29th of January Lux Mundi, Fuengirola went on a coach excursion to Las Alpujarras with an overnight stop at Hotel Balneario in Lanjaron organized by Lux Mundi Fuengirola.
After a stop for breakfast they travelled to the village of Trevelez along the twisting road climbing higher and higher the scenery was delightful with fantastic views and blossom on the almond trees. On arrival they visited a serano ham factory where there was a guided tour which was most interesting – seeing the hams hanging from the ceiling and learning how they were processed which can take from just over a year to almost three years. There was, of course, a tasting and the opportunity for them to buy some of the selection of local produce. Then it was time for lunch after which they joined the coach travelling to Capileira, a beautiful village with a very interesting fountain. They then continued to the village of Lanjaron to the Balneario Hotel where they stayed the night and enjoyed a buffet dinner.
The next morning after breakfast there was free time and some of the group enjoyed being pampered in a visit to the spa where they were able to experience a bubble bath followed by walking over pebbles, the circular shower with added water jet followed by a visit to the steam room and ending with a visit to a jacuzzi type bath with waterfall and jet. It was then time to relax or visitLanjaron before lunch and after which after which they joined the coach for the return journey to Fuengirola. It had been a most enjoyable time with good food and accommodation together with great company and an excellent host – Marta.
Lux Mundi, Fuengirola would like to thank all the friends who supported the excursion, which enables them to continue with their Charitable Work and look forward to seeing you all again at their various events and coach excursions.
